The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (five people in Washington DC) unanimously approved the building of a 1.5 square mile, Yankee Stadium sized gas terminal smack in the middle of Long Island Sound. Shell is going to move forward with construction and the only person who can stop it is New York's new governor, David Paterson. The Governor is expected to make a decision in the next ten days.
